These are some coloured rice onigri I made for a party - the little teapot has soy sauce in it to pour onto the onigri.
This image shows the process. I boiled sushi rice and then separated it into 5 bowls, then I sprinkled on a mixture of sushi vinegar, mirin, and food colouring.
I then used rice moulds to make the different shapes.

Spirited Away Bento

Axolotl
I finally bought an axolotl in July - I have wanted one for years and now have the chance.
I named him Darwin because of the evolutionary quirk that axolotls are (they are salamanders which remain in their larval state into adulthood and reproduce in this form) When I first got him he was as long as my index finger, he is now about 15cm long, even in a few months he has grown so much!
